Meet the owners!

100% family owned and ran since 2004

Samantha and Troy Bottegal opened the first Peko Peko in 2004 in Doubleview, Perth.Samantha was fresh from living in Japan for a decade, working in film production and the commercial food service industry.

When she moved back to Perth, she was disappointed with the Asian food offerings in her local area. Wanting to provide an option that was free from additives and something that lived into her vision of Happy, Healthy and Umami. Peko Peko was born!

Meet the restaurants!

After opening Doubleview, Samantha and Troy decided to move out of the city and headed to Dunsborough.

Once they arrived, they noticed that there was a demand for Happy, Healthy and Umami Asian-inspired food so they opened their second Peko Peko in 2010 and have been going strong ever since, moving closer to the town centre in 2021 and becoming a staple in the community.

Meet the teams!

In keeping with our Happy, Healthy, Umami vision, we employ fully qualified chefs from many different cultures and backgrounds

This keeps our flavours constantly rolling with the times and promoting our Umami-centric approach to everything we do. Korean inspired Bulgogi beef, Balinese inspired Sambal chicken, Japanese inspired flavoured Miso soups and more; all of these recipes are authentic and invented by one of our amazing chefs.

Meet the food!

Our entire menu is Asian inspired and Umami-centric, we roll sushi and rice paper rolls all day every day, with our miso based soups available every day of the year!

We have gourmet dinner packs for you to take home and enjoy with the whole family and the freshest hot night meals around with the tastiest sauces.

We are proud to say that every single one of our sauces and dressings are made fresh from the highest quality ingredients, everything prepared in house from scratch every day of the year!

Values

We believe we are nothing without our teams and we strive to make sure they feel as valued as possible.

In this vane we have behavioural values that apply to us all, and rather just be words on a wall, they speak to how we treat each other from director to a junior server:

  • ENVIRONMENT: “Only when we feel we are in a 'Circle of Safety' will we pull together as a unified team, better able to survive and thrive regardless of the conditions outside”
  • RESPECT: “The people at the bottom are the ones who get us to the top, treat them with respect”
  • TRUST: “You aren’t in charge; you are responsible for those in your charge”
  • ACCOUNTABILITY: “You can take all the credit for the things you get right, as long as you take responsibility for the things you get wrong”
